Description
Fuse a stemmed foot to a draped bowl using this mold & ring system
Transport your fused glass work to the next level by adding a ‘blown glass style’ stemmed foot to a draped bowl. Use the C105 Circle Foot Casting Mold to create a 3 1/4” (8.3 cm) diameter cast glass disk. Then shape the foot with one set of these Stackable Fusing Foot Rings and fuse it to the base of a bowl during a standard drape firing schedule. The bowl shown in the image gallery was created on our M35 Starfire mold.
Adding a ‘Stemmed Foot’ to a drape bowl is simple:
1. Cast a 3 1/4” (85 mm) x 1/4” (6 mm) glass disk in the C105 Foot Casting Mold (sold separately) using leftover scrap glass pieces from your project.
2. Stack the F500 Foot Rings to create the ‘V’ shaped cone assembly. One set of F500 Rings is included with the C105 Foot Mold. 2-Pack refills are available for purchase enabling you to add a foot to 2 different bowls.
3. Place a pre-fused flat blank on a draping mold (such as the M35 Starfire mold) then center the Foot Ring cone assembly and stack the Cast Foot disk on top.
4. Set the kiln controller to the recommended drape fire schedule to shape the bowl, create the stemmed foot profile and fuse the foot – all in the same firing.
