You will fabricate your very own 8” x 10” stained glass panel during this class. We have a variety of designs to choose from, including a flower panel, a sailboat, a geometric design, a sunset, and a conch shell. All with a maximum of 15 pieces.

In the first 3 hour session, you will learn how to score and break glass using the time-honored technique, then you will cut and shape the glass pieces using the design pattern. Then you’ll use a glass grinder to refine the glass pieces to precisely fit the design.

In the second 3 hour session, you’ll assemble your stained glass panel using the copper foil and solder technique. Then you will clean it up, patina the solder, frame it and it will be ready to hang in a window at home.

  • Duration: 2 hours -1 session
  • Class fee: $125 per person
  • Includes: All glass and materials to complete your bowl or platter project, plus the use of our shop tools, equipment

Glass Fusing is an exciting and liberating process enabling artists to create a glass art piece by melting (fusing) compatible glass pieces together in a kiln.

You will select a pre-cut 12″ circle or 9″ square base glass from a selection of colors, then you will learn how to cut and shape your own glass design components to create your project.

When your design is complete, we will fire it in our kiln to fuse the glass components, then do a second firing to shape it in the mold of your choice – with a cast glass foot on the bottom.

Your masterpiece will be ready for pickup within 2 weeks.

Karen, Jill & Mary3 Good Friends
We were looking for something fun to do when Jill found this stained glass party class in Fort Lauderdale and we decided to take it together. Carole is such a patient teacher we learned how to cut and shape the glass, wrap copper foil around the edges of the glass then solder everything together to make a beautiful stain glasssuncatcher. We are all so proud of the pieces we made. - Mary L.

I learned how to do Stained Glass about 20 years ago, then life got in the way so I put my tools away and stopped doing it. I retired last year and remembered how much fun I had creating with Stained Glass, so I found Carole on the Internet and signed up for a couple of private lessons. It all came back pretty quickly but Carole was great, giving me so many new tips and tricks and helping me get my glass cutting and soldering back on track. Thanks Carole, I really appreciate your skills as a teacher. - Lauri R

I really look forward to attending the fusing class, I didn’t realize how fun it was to be creative. Friends tell me the pieces I make are fantastic, and I agree with them. - Steve S.

Our entire family (there were 8 of us) signed up for the Fused Glass Party Session and we had a blast. Carole encouraged us to bring along snacks and our favorite beverage, so we made a party out of it. Everyone is so proud of the art pieces that they made, and they all look so different. Even the men in our group had to admit it was a fun evening! - Bethany K.

I have never thought of myself as being particularly artistic, but the freeform designing that Carole teaches in the fusing class has really made me feel more confident about myself. - Ron S.

When Naomi invited me to join her at Carole's fusing studio to make a tile triptych, I had no idea what to expect. I have tried many different crafts, but I’ve never tried fusing – what a surprise, it was so much fun I can hardly wait to do it again. - Cheryl D.
